About Me

I’m Betsy Schell, a Certified Nutrition Consultant and Nutrition Director at Bios Functional Medicine.

After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of Southern California, I completely immersed myself in the field of holistic healing and went back to school for nutrition, graduating with honors as a certified nutrition consultant from Bauman College. My path then led me to Bios Functional Medicine, a world-class functional medicine clinic in Santa Monica led by Dr. Apostolos Lekkos, where I worked as the clinic director. Working at a functional medical clinic, I gained a deep understanding of the complex interplay between how we eat, think, and live, and the way our bodies react on a physical level.

I now use my own functional nutrition approach, combining the healing power of food, lifestyle shifts, and one-on-one coaching to help my clients customize long-term and bio-individual strategies for personal wellness.
